We help students succeed.

We do this by:

  • Facilitating a sense of belonging for all UNI students
  • Emphasizing relational experiences and connections
  • Prioritizing holistic care for the well-being of our students
  • Helping students realize their academic, personal, and professional goals
  • Providing radical service, in all that we do

Strategic Priorities

As the Division of Student Life:

  • We will provide opportunities for all students to build connections within the university community, and know what it means to belong to the UNI community.
  • Using data and evidence to tell our story, we will continue to build our division brand, prioritizing information sharing with campus partners and students, expertise highlighting, and embracing our roles as helpers for the UNI community.
  • We will support our team of employees by prioritizing personal and professional development and identifying individualized growth opportunities within the division and university.  We will continue to build community within our division, defining and embracing what it means to be a “Great Place to Work”.
  • We will be responsible and ethical stewards of our resources, assessing and connecting our work to campus priorities and commitments, while also prioritizing student engagement,  partnerships within the division, flexibility and efficiency in operations,  and growing our business operations so that we may continue to provide excellent facilities, services, and programs for students.
  • Bringing our work into the next 150 years of the university, we will update all policies, procedures, and practices to serve today and tomorrow’s students.
  • We will celebrate the sesquicentennial milestone of the university, highlighting the success of our students, staff, facilities, and programs. 
  • Building upon the success of the Our Tomorrow campaign, we will build our friend and fundraising strategy as a division, highlighting opportunities for more people to support and join our radical service and commitment to student success.
